Well here I am almost midnight and I'm working on the RCS website. It's starting to come together but the self-imposed April deadline is starting to loom large. There are still many loose ends to tie up and I'm more worried about what I don't know I should be worried about for going live. I've started this blog to see if doing something like this for the teachers would be a viable alternative to what they are doing now on their teacher pages. This may limit them some in creativity but I think it will help to maintain a history of what is going on in the classroom. This should help parents not just get what homework is needed but to also to understand from the teacher what their children are learning now and will be learning next week or next month. It will depend on tech friendly the teachers are as to how successful this might be. Over time it could be a great tool.
My concerns are that if we use a blogging provider like blogspot.com that we lose control over shutting a blog down. We could certainly break the link from our site but the teacher owns the blog always even when no longer employed by RCS.
